Clinician Testimonials

The comments below were provided to MediCepts by a licensed physical therapist after the first few weeks of using the SpineSix BioMotion Spinal System® to treat patients with a variety of back and neck conditions. These comments are anecdotal, and are intended for general information purposes only. They do not, in any way, suggest or recommend the use of SpineSix for any patient without the supervision of a physician or licensed physical therapist. These comments have not been edited.

• 6'4" 300 lb. male who was not able to get any relief from therapy with ice heat and conservative exercises has been responding well to the SpineSix. After his first time on the SpineSix he was able to stand up straight and had significant relief that he was able to stand without pain and move pain-free for a prolonged period of time even after he had to get into his car and drive to work. He has now had 6 visits and has been using the SpineSix at the beginning of his sessions and has allowed him to be able to do Posterior Pelvic Tilts, Single Knee to Chest, Supine Marching, and today was able to do Seated Cybex Rows. He could not tolerate any of these basic exercises prior to his introduction to the SpineSix.

• 44 year old female who developed tightness in her neck, chest and upper back came to the office because she suddenly developed a "sway", where she felt unsteady and about to fall. She had been checked for vertigo and that was ruled out. She is very apprehensive and anxious but I evaluated her and found severe tightness of the upper cervical, rhomboids, suboccipitals, and upper traps. ROM was limited by approx. 50% for left and right rotations. She had a decrease in cervical lordosis (indicative of muscular spasms), as well as, a positive compression and distraction tests (possibly disc related pathology). I pre-set the SpineSix to only 6 degrees in either direction and instructed her to hit the "stop button" if she felt dizzy or uncomfortable in any way.  Sure enough, she became dizzy at first, but I sat with her and told her to breath slowly and talk to me until the symptoms passed. I then increased the ROM to 10 degrees in both directions and she was able to tolerate 12 minutes of treatment. She felt "so much looser" than when she came in and felt her ROM was dramatically increased post treatment.

• 48 year old female with spondylosis (arthritis) of the neck and lower back. She states a long history of bilateral radicular symptoms to both wrists. She stated that it never limited her activities and nothing ever relieved her symptoms. I began treating her like a typical patient with OA of the spine; moist heat, active exercises and some gentle stretching. She seemed uninterested in the typical traditional therapy, so I put her on the SpineSix. Within a few minutes she stated "this is different" and "quite relaxing" . A smile came to both of our faces especially when I told her she would be on for 15 minutes. Post treatment she felt so relaxed, with no pain and a reduction of her symptoms that she wanted to know how soon she can get back in for treatment. The OA patients seem to do very well with the gentle ROM of the machine.

• 43 year old female who had been to therapy a few other times for the same condition returned with complaints of radicular symptoms to the thumbs. She steadfastly refused to do any exercises, stating that "they hurt her". She wanted heat and massage only! She exhibited trigger points over the levators and upper trap muscles bilaterally. I originally accommodated her requests but then I tried her on the SpineSix. WINNER!! That is the type of treatment she was looking for, gentle ROM and relaxation. Much like doing nothing at home instead of trying to help yourself get better!! But, for now I can treat her like this and as she improves and maybe we can introduce exercises at a later date. It has proven to be a different viable option for patients when traditional therapy is not an option.

• 45 year old white male being treated for cervical radiculopathy received a treatment session consisting of moist heat to the cervical and upper back region, followed by cervical and upper back postural exercises as appropriate, and followed with intermittent cervical traction and then the SpineSix. The patient has stated being skeptical about a lot of things and was regarding the Spine Six as well, but following the Cervical SpineSix treatment, he felt loose and relaxed in the neck and upper back.

• 55 year old female with diagnosis of Coccydnia and lumbar radiculopathy swears by the SpineSix stating that whatever aches and pains she might still have following her therapy session are alleviated while lying on the SpineSix for a 15 minute period.

• 52 year old male has diagnosis of Cervical Radic and has immediate relief with the SpineSix and is used prior to manual stretching of the low back and cervical region.

The use of the SpineSix on the Fibromyalgia patient has been extraordinary. She has had the condition for many years and after each 15 mins. session she states she feels better and better. Last session consisted of moist heat to her low back followed by the SpineSix treatment, afterwards she stated "this is the best that I have felt in YEARS!!" It was quite a statement from somebody that has a condition that has been known to debilitate and incapacitate people for weeks at a time. The condition itself is one that lends itself well to the patient. They often do well with light gentle exercise or very passive treatment, i.e., moist heat, electric stimulation, gentle massage, and gentle mobilizations. They Do Not do well with anything vigorous, exercise or otherwise. The SpineSix makes treatment a breeze and allows total relaxation of the entire body which is perfect for these patients.
