John R. Santarsiero, Jr., Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Santarsiero has been Chief Executive Officer of SunCepts, Inc. since November 2001. Mr. Santarsiero has extensive business experience as a private investor and retired fisherman. Mr. Santarsiero recently retired from the Board of Directors for SeaCoast Banking Corporation of Florida after 30 years of service. (NASDAQ: SBCF).
David M. Pomerance, Director
Mr. Pomerance has served on our Board since 2002. Mr. Pomerance currently serves as General Partner of Martin Magnetic Imaging and as Director and Chairman of the Audit Committee of First National Bank of Central Florida. From 1994 to 1997, Mr. Pomerance served as Chief Executive Officer of Dynamic Healthcare Technologies of Maitland, Florida, a multi-faceted electronic health record and clinical system company. Mr. Pomerance has also served as President of Unisys Healthcare Systems in Charlotte, North Carolina, and he founded and served as Chief Executive Officer of Dynamic Control Corporation of Orlando, Florida, a broad-based health information system.
David R. Campbell, M.D., Medical Director of MediCepts division, and Director of SunCepts
Dr. Campbell has served on our Board and as President and Medical Director of MediCepts since 2002. Dr. Campbell is a practicing orthopedic surgeon specializing in spinal surgery with Palm Beach Orthopedic Institute with offices in Jupiter, Palm Beach Gardens, and West Palm Beach, Florida. After completing his orthopedic residency at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, Dr. Campbell completed fellowship training in adult spinal surgery at Kerlan-Jobe Clinic in Los Angeles, California. He also received pediatric spinal deformity surgery training at The Miami Children's Hospital.
Edwin (Ned) B. Wayman, Director
Mr. Wayman has served on our Board since 2002. Mr. Wayman is a real estate investor, developer, and principal of Terrace Communities, LLC, which specializes in developing and managing assisted living properties. From 1978 to 1997, Mr. Wayman served as Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board of the MIG Companies, one of the nation's leading SEC-registered real estate investment advisory companies. The MIG Companies functioned as a registered investment advisor to governmental and corporate pension systems, as well as servicing commercial mortgages, managing assets and property, and developing and acquiring an institutional portfolio of equity real estate. The combined $3.8 billion portfolio comprised approximately 18,000 multi-family housing units and several million square feet of office, industrial, retail and special purpose entities throughout the U.S.
Robert O. Baratta, M.D., Director
Dr. Baratta has served as a member of our Board of Directors since January 2004. Dr. Baratta has served as the chairman of FPIC Insurance Group Inc. (NASDAQ: FPIC), a Florida-based multi-line insurance carrier, since 1999 and as a Director since 1996. From 2001 to 2003, Dr. Baratta served as President, Chief Executive Officer, and Vice Chairman of UltraStrip Systems, Inc. From 1972 to 2001, Dr. Baratta practiced ophthalmology in Stuart, Florida and remains the founder and majority shareholder in The Surgery Center of Stuart, a multispecialty ambulatory surgery center. He also founded and chaired Stuart Hatteras Inc., the largest Hatteras dealer in the world, has developed professional office real estate projects, and owns a property management firm and a yacht charter business.
Stephen E. Bohner, Director
Mr. Bohner is CEO and owner of Premier Realty Group, a leading real estate company specializing in the sale of luxury homes. Mr. Bohner has been actively involved in several area corporations and in the community. He serves on numerous boards such as Seacoast Banking Corporation, Greater Martin County Board of Realtors, First Methodist Church and St. Michael’s Independent School. Mr. Bohner is a graduate of Vanderbilt University with dual degrees in Business and Economics.
Stephen D. Zuckerman, Member Emeritus
Mr. Zuckerman was one of the founders of SunCepts, Inc. and has served on our Board of Directors since 2000. Mr. Zuckerman has had an extensive career as an entrepreneur and manager in many businesses, including real estate, aerospace, agriculture, high tech, and mass-marketed consumer products. One of his companies, SDZ Land Company, has been in business for over 40 years. Mr. Zuckerman has built many thousands of single family homes and developed and sold over 20,000 acres of land. Mr. Zuckerman holds an AB degree in economics from Princeton University, an MBA degree, specializing in Finance and Accounting from Stanford Business School and a JD degree from USC Law School. Mr. Zuckerman is an active member of the California Bar.
Troy E. Mitchell, Member Emeritus
Mr. Mitchell was a founder of SunCepts, Inc. and has served on our Board since 2000. Mr. Mitchell is the inventor of the hides patented sunglass skin. Mr. Mitchell has also invented and created multi-functional consumer products, children's books, television pilots and movies that emphasize joy and humor. Mr. Mitchell has a proven ability not only to create concepts for new products, but also to produce working prototypes and unique commercially-ready products. Mr. Mitchell's educational background includes many courses specializing in computer graphics and marketing.
Gerald E. Bergeron, Member Emeritus
Mr. Bergeron is a retired executive living in Palm City, FL and Estes Park, CO. He has owned and operated several successful automobile dealerships and was also broker/owner in real estate and insurance for many years. Mr. Bergeron has served on the Board of Directors for a wide range of organization including First Trust Bank of Bradley IL and St. Joseph's Hospital in Bloomington IL, St. Mary's Hospital in Kankakee IL and Estes Park Medical Center Foundation. He earned his B.S. degree in Business Administration from Marquette University in 1960.
Stuart Tenney, Member Emeritus
Mr. Tenney has served on our Board since 2002. Mr. Tenney has extensive experience as a private investor. For over 20 years, Mr. Tenney served as a Director and President of the Nina Haven Charitable Foundation and currently serves as Director Emeritus. Mr. Tenney is also a Trustee Emeritus of St. Michael's School in Stuart, Florida. Mr. Tenney has served as an officer in the United States Navy. His background also includes residence and education in numerous foreign countries.
